The German refugee camp in Oksbøl

In the dune plantation Aal Klitplantage near Oksbøl, you find the remains of a refugee camp home to more than 30,000 German refugees from WWII over 60 years ago.

Some of the old buildings and remains of other buildings are still visible in the landscape and the camp road network is further still intact along with the refugee cemetery. From the former hostel at Præstegårdsvej 21 in Oksbøl, you can follow a marked trail around the refugee camp with information boards.
