Opening of ‘After the War’ - New exhibition at Tirpitz
The 4th of May marks 80 years since Denmark was liberated after five terrible years of occupation. Now you can experience a new exhibition at Tirpitz that tells the story of this landmark time
Join us as we mark the day with the opening of a major new exhibition; with an opening speech, bubbles/coffee and guided tours!
In AFTER THE WAR, Tirpitz opens the doors to an exhibition that sheds light on the many traces of the Second World War - a story of complex dilemmas, the joy of liberation, the thirst for revenge and the consequences of war.
AFTER THE WAR is created in an evocative design with large images, film, sound and original artefacts - and in the dark rooms, history emerges as shadows from a time that still affects us.
Afterwards, you can be one of the first to explore the exhibition, and at 11am and 1pm there will be guided tours of the exhibition with historian Jane Møller (free with paid admission).
NOTE: Participation in the event requires regular admission to the museum.
