Visit Bundsbæk Mill during the Winter Holiday
Take the family on a journey back in time, when the old watermill played an important role in everyday life. Meet the volunteer millers, who lovingly share stories about the traditional craft and the mill’s history. You can also explore the cosy old mill rooms and the exhibition.
From Tuesday to Thursday in week 7, volunteers from Bundsbæk Mølle’s Friends will be ready with various activities at the mill.
Watch the millers and blacksmiths at work
The volunteer millers and blacksmiths are present at the mill and in the forge. Come along for a chat and learn about their work and the traditional crafts. In the coffee room, you can buy coffee, hot chocolate and squash, as well as caraway pretzels and traditional Shrovetide buns.
Shrovetide activities for children and adults
Every day, there will be a small costume swap station where you can exchange Shrovetide outfits. Maybe your child has outgrown their costume or would like something different this year.
It’s free to swap – but you can only take something home if you bring something to exchange.
Tuesday, 10 February
Create a festive Shrovetide mask from card. We’ll provide all the materials for drawing, cutting out and decorating your mask.
Wednesday, 11 February

Thursday, 12 February
Make a lovely lantern to brighten up the dark winter days. We’ll have jars and all the other materials you’ll need.
Opening hours: Bundsbæk Mill is open from 11:00 to 15:00 on 10, 11 and 12 February.
