FOOD WALK - The Flavours of Hvide Sande

On this guided FOOD WALK, you’re invited to join an atmospheric tour through Hvide Sande, where flavours, stories and local experiences come together. Along the way, you’ll visit seven selected spots in the town, and at each stop, culinary delights await, offering a glimpse into the area’s unique food culture. Here, the sea, fishing and local produce take centre stage, but the tour also offers other specialities that reflect life and flavours on the West Coast.

Among other things, you can look forward to tasting fish and seafood, local drinks and selected specialities, which together paint a delicious picture of Hvide Sande. The FOOD WALK is therefore not just a tour of the town, but an experience that brings you closer to the place, its history and the people behind it.

One of these people is Nils, your guide on the tour

Nils is 53 years old and has worked in the food and hospitality industry for many years. His keen interest in quality ingredients and authentic culinary experiences has been a recurring theme throughout his working life. Together with his husband, he ran a French restaurant in Hamburg for a number of years. After moving to Denmark in 2022, he became even more closely connected to the West Jutland food culture, working as a fishmonger and gaining a real insight into local fishing traditions. In his spare time, Nils enjoys the simple, close-to-nature life. He takes great pleasure in gathering, preparing and enjoying ingredients based on the season and surroundings, and it is precisely this passion that he brings with him on the tour. With his knowledge, curiosity and enthusiasm, he creates an experience where food, people and local history are naturally intertwined.
