We are offering a unique opportunity to become part of a young and strong organisation, which uses a number of exciting development and marketing projects to work towards sustainable tourism development in the municipalities of Varde and Ringkøbing Skjern.

Would you like to help create life force by the North Sea?
Destination Vesterhavet is expanding and is therefore seeking a project manager to lead the projects that will drive the development of the North Sea area's gastronomic brand.

What we want from you:
You love following what’s happening on the gastronomic scene. You're always on the lookout for small, unique dining experiences and feel comfortable among chefs as well as local food producers.

You are positive, curious, creative and enterprising by nature. You have plenty of drive and produce efficiently because you don't get weighed down by unnecessary perfection. You have a natural focus on progress and a solid grip on schedules.

You are a good communicator and possess both an overview and diplomatic abilities – this is important because the cross-organisational projects typically involve many partners and stakeholders, who you should be able to motivate and navigate safely through the projects. You thrive in a varied working day, where there is a short distance from thought to action, but you are also able to work strategically.

You have relevant professional experience that includes knowledge of value chains and the interaction between restaurant kitchens and local food producers.

We expect that you have experience with project development and possess a good business understanding, including experience with project finances.

Knowledge of and experience with the tourism industry will be a clear advantage.

What we offer:
We offer a unique opportunity to become part of a young and strong organisation, which uses a number of exciting development and marketing projects to work towards sustainable tourism development in Varde and Ringkøbing-Skjern municipalities.

As a project manager, you will work extensively with development and marketing projects, reporting and project management, as well as fund applications.

Your main task will be the development of the destination company’s food projects. Another important task is to increase the supply and quality of microtourism experience products (authentic experiences on land and in smaller towns, such as canoe rental, craftsfolk and guides) with a strong local DNA, in the land-based areas of destination, by supporting value chain collaborations and packaging in marketing. The projects will create a deeper, tourism-oriented guest understanding and coherent, brand-creating storytellings from the West Coast’s gastronomic scene and from selected inland areas throughout the entire destination, which will increase tourist consumption and willingness to recommend.

You will report to the marketing and development manager and be part of the project team, which consists of four other project managers with whom you will work closely.

Most working days will be in the office at Hvide Sande. Some of us have a long journey to get there, but it’s raw and beautiful – with lovely beaches, some of Europe’s finest surf spots, harbour and restaurants right on the doorstep. There is an informal and direct tone among the 12 permanent and 8 hourly-paid employees. We have a good working environment and often organise social events. In the office we communicate with many external contacts, including all our members (tourism collaborators) and partners.
