ART56° artist residence
In ART56° you can meet rotating artists in their creative process, see exhibited works and experience art up close in an open studio with free admission.
ART56° was established in 2016 to promote art and creative work on the West Coast. The name refers to the 56th parallel, which runs through Hvide Sande at the drainage sluice – an expression of the broad perspective that characterizes both the place and the representation of artists.
From April 4th to October 28th, 2026, a total of 15 different artists will reside at the artist residency, each for a 14-day period. The artists are selected with focus on the quality of their artistic work as well as a diverse distribution throughout the season – both geographically and in terms of artistic expression.
The studio at Æ Gammel Havn 9 is open to visitors from Saturday to Wednesday, 1-5 PM. Here you can meet the artists, experience their working process and see exhibited works. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
