Danish Millsdag 2025 at Skjern Vindmølle

At Bundsbæk Mill and Skjern Windmill, mill day is organised by our volunteer millers.

Watermills, windmills, stamp mills, stump mills, tread mills... A mill is not just a mill, and on Sunday 15 June you can experience several of them and learn more about their exciting 1000-year history. Ringkøbing Fjord Museums will mark the day at both Bundsbæk Mill and Skjern Windmill.

Skjern Windmill

There's nothing new about using wind energy in Denmark; in fact, wind energy has been used since the Middle Ages. After years of careful renovation, Skjern Windmill is finally ready to grind again. A handful of local volunteers have been trained in windmill's operation, and they are looking forward to showing off the beautiful Dutch mill and - wind willing - demonstrating how it grinds grain.
