Historic Trail Ølgod Byskov

The forest was established in 1882 as a stock plantation with the purpose of providing shelter for the new railroad town and prevent the inland dunes from becoming shifting dunes in case of heath fires.

Today, the forest is an urban forest with numerous experiences and facilities. It has plenty of cultural history to offer and you can see for yourself by walking the trail “Historiestien” (History trail). It is 5km long and includes 12 stops, so you get to experience the entire forest.
