Late Summer Festival - Virtuosity & Classical Highlights
An evening of classical grandeur and chamber music brilliance—and the festival debut of piano star Melissa Jacobsen-Velandia

On Wednesday evening, you’ll enjoy a program featuring the grandeur of classical music and the full range of chamber music—from Beethoven’s light dance rhythms to the sharp virtuosity of the Baroque era and on to the soundscapes of today.
We open with Beethoven’s 6 Ländlerische Tänze, continue with Barrière’s duo featuring close interplay between cello and double bass, and present the evening’s world premiere: Lasse Thoresen’s Tosomt ll for violin and double bass.
After the intermission, rising piano star Melissa Jacobsen-Velandia will make her debut with Albéniz’s Asturias, before the evening culminates in Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata for violin and piano, featuring Ylva Larsdotter
