Experience This Feeling, Oceanic, a poetic installation by international artist Youmna Chlala, presented exclusively at FLUGT – Refugee Museum of Denmark as part of Art Matter Local. The work is kindly loaned by Malmö Konstmuseum.

The installation consists of a series of blue deckchairs where visitors can lie back and listen to a poetic sound narrative about the artist’s journey from Lebanon to the United States. The story brings together experiences of migration, the Mediterranean and childhood memories of Beirut, inviting reflection on movement, belonging and memory.

The sound work can be accessed via a QR code using your own mobile phone, creating an intimate space to pause, listen and reflect.

This Feeling, Oceanic is part of Malmö Konstmuseum’s project Bära minne – i krigens närvær, which explores artistic perspectives on how war and conflict affect people through exhibitions and conversations. The work was originally produced for The Ocean in the Forest at Wanås Konst in 2024 and is now part of the Malmö Konstmuseum collection.
