Bringing In the Tide explores how we as humans coexist with nature and the forces that shape our lives. The exhibition presents works by Danish, Nordic and North Atlantic artists, created in close interaction with the landscape and ecology of the Wadden Sea.
Art, nature and tides
The art exhibition Bringing In The Tide, Wadden Tide 2026 takes place in the northern Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bringing In The Tide presents twelve site-specific works by Nordic and North Atlantic artists with backgrounds in literature, visual art, dance, architecture and landscape architecture. Participating artists: Andri Snær Magnason, Amitai Romm and Djernes & Bell, Ava Samii, AVPD, David Garcia, Faun Vium & Therese Bülow, Jessie Kleemann, Juha Pekka Matias Laakkonen, Nana-Francisca Schottländer, New Mineral Collective, Rammatik and Sophie Sahlqvist.
In 2026, the exhibition will unfold in several stages and at various locations, including Blåvand Beach, Skallingen, Ho Bay and along the River Varde. From 4 May, visitors can experience performances and take part in walks and workshops. On 22 August, the exhibition culminates with installations, sculptures and performances on Blåvand Beach, as well as two works in the tidal landscape.
