The Bathing Point Award
The Bathing Point Award – your guarantee of great beach experiences
The Bathing Point Award is a Nordic quality scheme designed to highlight bathing sites where the focus is not necessarily on extensive facilities, but on providing an excellent bathing experience. It recognises clean bathing water, locally adapted water safety measures, and opportunities to enjoy unique outdoor, natural and cultural experiences.
The Bathing Point season generally runs from 1 June to 15 September. Individual municipalities may choose a shorter season, but the Bathing Point flag must be raised no later than 1 July. During the bathing season, water quality is monitored regularly.
