Doris Leuschner
7 km south of Hvide Sande, only 300 m from the sea, you will find Haurvig Strandgård, an old quadrangular farm, where the artist Doris Leuschner was settled in 2021 with her husband. In the middle of protected nature, surrounded by dunes, she has set up her studio in the farm's former barn. The gallery in the side wing, where the artist exhibits her sculptures, complements the creative atmosphere of this special place.
"As a sculptor, I am very interested in the element of water and its unique character as a habitat for animals and plants. It is not only the shapes and colors and the complex forms of life, but also the meditative silence of the water and the enormous power that the water has, which I want to make tangible through my sculptures.”
Doris Leuschner regularly offers courses in her light-filled studio: here you can learn to work with clay, make your own applied art, create sculptures from clay or concrete or make cyanotypes (an old photographic technology).

The gallery is open every other Thursday from 14.00 to 21.00.
Would you like to combine your vacation with your creativity? From the summer of 2023, there will be three holiday apartments in the farm available. You can also book your workplace on an hourly basis right next door, in the studio.
