Mushroom week 2025

Nordsee Holidays organises the annual Mushroom Week for guests and locals in Blåvand and Vejers. Here you can go on free mushroom hikes with nature guides and buy a ticket for a cookery meeting - an event where local chefs create delicious dishes with mushrooms!

In week 39 from the 22 to 25 September, skilled nature guides and chefs celebrate these coveted treasures from the forest floor throughout the week.

Mushroom Week is a recurring autumn event that focuses on one of the West Coast's popular ingredients: mushrooms! The West Coast's sandy soil and countless dune plantations make the growing conditions for mushrooms phenomenal, and from August to November you can find edible mushrooms such as chanterelles, Karl Johan, brown cane and many more.

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday there are free guided mushroom tours both mornings and afternoons, where the guides explain which mushrooms you can collect and how to cook them. The tours take place in the plantations at Blåvand and Vejers.

On Tuesdays there is a cookery meeting where local chefs from the restaurants Høfde 4, Ho Kro, Hr. Skov, Nymindegab Kro, Café Stranden, Arnbjerg Pavilionen and Dine & Wine.
