Open Air Museum Hjerl Hede

The Open Air Museum Hjerl Hede - the living museum on the moor. Travel back in time and experience the daily life in the country side 150 years ago.

Bring the whole family with, see, sense and play. Living rooms and kitchens are populated by volunteers, and work is done at the workshops again. The houses are decorated with original furniture and household utensils. Vinkelgården, Denmark's oldest farmhouse from 1546, is located here at the museum.

During the summer holidays and the weeks of advocacy the museum come alive again. The steam train drives a ride on the heden, the horse carriage rocks through the village, and from the baker it smells of freshly baked bread.

At Restaurant Skyttegården you can buy breakfast or coffee. Your food basket can be enjoyed in the picnic area at the historic playground. Dogs on a string are welcome.

At Restaurant Skyttegaarden you can buy lunch or coffee. If you bring your own lunch, you can enjoy it in the picnic area right next to the historic playground. Dogs on a leash are welcome.
