Stauning Church

The Stauning Church is completely surrounded by a well preserved and a recently restored old wall with four entrances _ each with cattle_s grate to prevent animals entering the churchyard in the old days. An impressive church with vesty, tower and porch added later in the Gothic period. Most of the interior is Renaissance, there is a Baroque epitaph from 1657 and in the wall a memorial plaque commemo_ rating the 150 persons who lost their lives 1603 when a plague wiped, from 1657 there is a 'series pastorum' - a succession of vicars.
