Beaches by the North Sea
The beaches along Denmark's North Sea coast offer something for everyone, from swimming and surfing to searching for amber and long coastal walks. Discover the beaches and plan your visit here.

The North Sea coast is home to some of Denmark's finest bathing beaches. Along our stretch of coastline, from Skallingen in the south to Vedersø Klit in the north, you will find 14 beaches that have received the Bathing Point Award. The award is your assurance of clean bathing water, locally adapted water safety measures, and opportunities to experience unique natural and cultural attractions nearby.
All beaches with the Bathing Point Award also provide toilets, lifesaving equipment and other essential facilities.
Beaches with lifeguards
Lifeguards are present at a number of beaches across the destination during the peak season. You can find an overview of these beaches here.

The Bathing Point Award
The Bathing Point Award – your guarantee of great beach experiences
The Bathing Point Award is a Nordic quality scheme designed to highlight bathing sites where the focus is not necessarily on extensive facilities, but on providing an excellent bathing experience. It recognises clean bathing water, locally adapted water safety measures, and opportunities to enjoy unique outdoor, natural and cultural experiences.
The Bathing Point season generally runs from 1 June to 15 September. Individual municipalities may choose a shorter season, but the Bathing Point flag must be raised no later than 1 July. During the bathing season, water quality is monitored regularly.
